“Tandem BASE” is a team of jumpers that work together to share BASE jumping with the world. While there are a number of people that use the words ‘Tandem BASE’ on their webpage or social media, the only locations truly associated with the “Tandem BASE” brand are; Tandem BASE (Twin Falls, Idaho), Tandem BASE Europe (Monte Brento, Italy), and Tandem BASE Moab. We do have new locations to be announced soon and we are excited to announce events happening around the world.

The Tandem BASE team is extremely careful who we choose to work with. Absolutely anyone can jump off a cliff, but we believe that there is an extremely limited number of qualified jumpers to responsibly guide Tandem BASE jumping. There are a number of things that Tandem BASE considers before working with a guide. Tandem BASE requires an extremely high level of parachuting experience. We require a minimum of 10,000 skydives with thousands of tandems in that time. We also require thousands of BASE jumps before you can be considered a candidate to guide Tandem BASE jumping.

However, anyone can claim that they have thousands of jumps, what can not be lied about is parachute related accomplishments. We do not consider guides that are not highly accomplished within the field of skydiving and BASE jumping. We look for achievements like; commercial work, world and national championships, movie work, jobs with big names or brands, real verifiable world records, paid stunts, employment with parachute manufacturing, or high level skydive instruction ratings.  If you are a legitimate parachute professional, your accomplishments will be verifiable, not self proclaimed. This experience allows a guide to have encountered as many situations as possible so that nothing is new to them while guiding. It also allows them adequate time to perfect professional level skill with parachutes. Not only do we consider the number of jumps that a candidate has made, but we consider the amount of time that they have been around parachutes. We require a minimum of a decade experience working with parachutes. Again, this ensures that the candidate has truly put in the work and time tested.

Then next thing we consider when taking on new Tandem BASE jumping guides is their references. If you have put in the time, made the jumps, and accomplished some great things, we want to know what your peers think of you. Yes, we are ‘living the dream,’ but your dream still holds a high level of integrity, professionalism, and social skills. Which leads to the next thing we consider when assessing a new Tandem BASE jumping guide, character. Just because anyone can jump off a cliff, certainly does not mean everyone should be jumping off of a cliff. Further, it definitely means we do not want clients jumping off cliffs with people that we do not trust and admire. We require all guides to have a high level of integrity. Sure, we are just regular dudes like anyone else, but we believe that taking clients on Tandem BASE jumps is the absolute highest level of customer service. We want to ensure that clients feel safe! We want to know that you can trust our guides.
